Working with Johnson and Wales University dining hall, Willies, to design a new efficient space. The client expressed issues with the inactivity of mobile pickups and questioned the space layout's effectiveness. To influence people to buy food through the mobile app, I designed a sign to clearly represent the pickup area and bring attention to mobile ordering. Paired the sign with tokens for keychains given to the client with an ample list of uses to promote mobile ordering. For space effectiveness, I designed vinyl ground guides to direct people through new layouts, which I designed after researching public food court human factors. These guides lead the consumers into the dining area and then the mobile pickup and register area. Our group researched and analyzed how people interacted with the space to find the best way to create a better environment. As a bonus for the client, the food prep station was relocated to stop people from stealing products and walking out the door.
